Listed is the snowmobile deaths in Vilas County and a link for the State of Wisconsin. One death is too many!
Vilas County (1/27/18) reported its first snowmobile death near Land O'Lakes. The incident occured off the snowmobile route; on a road; and the rider hit a tree. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. BAC has not been reported. Reminder to riders to stay on trail, roads and trails are very icy.
Vilas County (2/10/18) reported it's second snowmobile death near the shoreline of Bauer's Dam Resort in Conover. The incident occured at 1:45 AM. The rider hit the shoreline missing the entrance to the resort and a tree. The rider was pronuced dead at the scene. BAC has not been reported. Reminder to riders, SLOW DOWN.
Vilas County (2/19/18) reported it's third snowmobile death in the town of Land O' Lakes. The incident occured after the snowmobiler hit a treen on a road. Emergency crews found the rider dead when they arrived on scene. Freezing rain may be a factor. BAC has not been reported

Trail Condition is very hard pack powder, and or ice! USE CAUTION ON CORNERS. STAY ON YOUR SIDE OF THE TRAIL!!!
- Trails are flat in most places, expect trail base to be thin and rough in spots.
- Eagle Lake & Catfish Lakes are marked with barrels.
-Logging operations Trail 1 North from Eagle Lake to Trail 17. Trail is open.
-SNO-EAGLES does not groom during the day unless deemed an emergency! Bumpy trails do not justify emergency. Grooming during the day is a liability to the club and increased risk due to daylight.
-TRAIL 3 heading to Three Lakes is no longer called Alt. 13 Trail.
**CAUTION: FOR YOUR SAFETY STAY BY THE BARRELS; YOU WILL SEE SURFACE SLUSH.**
NO LAKE TRAIL ACCESS TO Lumpy's Bar & Grill. Please respect private property near Lumpy's and do not try to cross property to get into Lumpy's, you would be tresspassing. SNO-EAGLES is NOT working with any landowers to access Lumpy's at this time. If you would like to see a trail from Catfish Lake to Lumpy's, please address your concerns directly to Lumpy's. THANK YOU!
